New to the Nest & New to Food Blogging

Hi Hello Nesters ( Nesties?) What do we call each other? Anyway- I am newly married ( married exactly 2 months ago at Belle Mer) and I have just started my very own food blog. I love food and everything I do basically revolves around it. If you guys love cooking I would love my fellow Rhody ladies to read about what I am cooking & what local restaurants I am going to. Also if you have any good Rhode Island recipes for me to try out let me know!  Feel free to check it out at :

 Thank Ladies!

  • Welcome, Leanne! I think the technical term is "Nesties," but I'm not sure how official that is. Congrats on your wedding! I'll add your blog to my google reader. What's your favorite restaurant around here?

  • Welcome to the board! And congratulations on your recent wedding! When the Nest was first launched, the people at theknot and thenest tried calling us "nesters" but there was a general concensus among the ladies on the boards that the term "nesties" sounded better. Since those early days, we have all been referring to ourselves as Nesties.

I took a quick look at your new blog, and I just had to tell you that I have made more grilled cheese and fruit sandwiches than I care to admit. It seems that any combination of cheese and fruit (jam, jelly, marmalade, preserves) makes a tasty sandwich grilled. I've done meunster and apricot preserves, cheddar and raspberry jam, etc. I had seen an episode of "Ham on the Streets" where George claimed this was true, and I just had to see for myself!

  • Thank you! It's actually funny you ask because I just went to Nick's on Broadway last night in Providence and it may be my new favorite restaurant. I just put the review up in the blog today!

Also I LOVE mexican food so Perro Salado in Newport is my favorite. Have you ever been there?
