Re: FB Question

  • Some but not all. More like ones I would share life stuff with

  • no- not at all. they don't need to know when i'm on or off, or to see all my thoughts and photos.

we're in a close office - they see pics of my kids and hear about our weekend. it's enough.

i think of FB as my friend social place, and LinkedIn as my business social place.

  • I don't currently work in an office situation but when I did I became friends with the 2 or 3 people I was close with.  I worked in an office of about 12 and I'm also friends with an ex coworker of B's who left on good terms and a current co-worker who we are very friendly with and her husband.  These are actual people who I had relationships outside of the office with though and still do.

  • I always worked in small offices and was generally pretty close with my coworkers so we were FB friends.  I have since de-friended a few from my last job but am still very close with those from my original job.  I currently only work with 1 person and he doesn't even have FB but I am FB friends with his live-in gf.  That said, my current boss knows pretty much everything about me so it's not really a big deal what he can find on FB.
  • I'm FB friends with some (I've been at my job for almost 10 years).  I guess my next question is: "How do you de-friend a co-worker tactfully?"

  • Only if I do things with them outside of work too. I like keeping my personal and work life separate!

  • I tell them that fb is a great way for me to stay in touch with old friends and family who live at a distance... And not for people I see every day. Nothing personal!

No one has been offended yet - everyone still talks to me

Tell them you are changing how u use it

  • What Melanie said or just block them from seeing your wall and photos etc...

  • Good idea, thank you! I totally forgot about blocking certain things and not others. If she questions me, I can just play stupid.
