I can't believe that I have started my xmas shopping. I don't even want to think about it, but its true. I have been slowly picking up some gifts. This is more b/c I am trying to stretch out my budget and hit some sales when I see them rather than for the sake of being done. Anyone else start?

Re: xmas shopping
Wow, I envy u, I wish I could be so far ahead of the game. I literally just complained to my mother b/c they were already putting out x mas decorations on Halloween Day when I went to buy candy for trick-or-treaters. (yes I am the jerk who buys things the last min, day of)
My DH's B day is this wkend and I haven't bought him a present, made dinner reservations, or even really remember until today. :-) Looks like my x mas shopping will be done on either Black Friday or X mas Eve. oops.
Ughhhh I was just feeling guilty that I hadn't started this yet. I'm usually verrry on top of this, (in fact usually I'm almost done by now, either with physically puchasing the gifts or at least thinking of what I'll plan to buy) but for some reason this year I just do not feel it! :-( I'm grinchy.
Maybe cuz it's still 75 degrees here???
Branz--I couldn't imagine getting in the holiday spirit in warm weather.
My biggest motivation to start so early has been sales and coupons. I keep getting $10 off of $10 at Penny's and I got $15 off of $15 at Lane Bryant so I am picking up some gifts. I also get rewards from my credit card so I turned them in for $50 off of Target. Hence, more gifts.
DH and I discussed the gift options a while back actually and decided to do gift cards for everyone this year (except my Pupa). I usually am not a big fan of being non-creative, but with the budget and the stress that sometimes comes with the actual Christmas shopping (which I actually quite enjoy), we thought this would be the simplest. I think that I am going to try my hands at making our Christmas cards, or at least the making gift card boxes, so that they are still 'pretty' and then everyone is done and gets the same $$ amount. My mom told me all that my Pupa wants/needs is a calendar with everyone's bdays and anniversaries already recorded - I am the 'go-to' family member for all the dates, so this is perfect for me to make for him!
I was actually in Canadian Tire this afternoon and was so excited to see all the holiday decorations and supplies out on display! I can't wait to put our stuff up...probably on the weekend of the 12th!!
Maybe it is because the weather is starting to change here, but I can Feel the Christmas excitement starting to build
We aren't really doing Christmas this year, as we have to be at the airport at about midday. Hopefully make it to the Christmas service at Church in the morning.
I will make an effort to bring some great presents back from Holiday for the family. We have such a small family that it is easy to buy for everybody.
