BR update...a week late

well, we're still waiting for baby girl to make her arrival.

at yesterday's appt I was 2.5cm dilated, 50% effaced and at -1 station. So at least I've made some progress but realistically I could walk around like this for days yet. I did have my OB sweep my membranes (moms, did you have this done with good results??), which was not pleasant.

going for a walk with Stella - hoping that gets things moving!

Re: BR update...a week late

  • Because of Brynn's position mine didn't get stripped until I was in the hospital and that still never really got things moving what with c-section and all. A friend of mine had hers stripped and went into labor the next day though. So I don't really know if it speeds things along or not.

Come on Baby P!!!!! Your mommy wants to meet you now.

This seems to be the stories you hear...either it works in a few days or not at all and who knows if it was just time for the baby to come or if the stripping helped or what.

I am thinking of acupuncture, but I don't know...it didn't work for Magda.

  • Like I mentioend yesterday Claire those were almost my stats 9 hours before Lucas was here AND after my water broke. I had him on a Saturday and my last appointment had been the Thursday before.  I was barely a cm and I can't quite remember how effaced I was.  She did strip my membranes then.  I still had a few days until my due date, but she basically did it while she was asking so I had no choice.  haha  I lost my mucus plug, my water broke and then contractions started like 36 hours later.

This might be TMI, but did you bleed a lot after she stripped your membranes?

  • Actually not at all. Are you?  Is is blood or more mucus...maybe mucos plug?
  • hang in there Claire you are doing great. Unfortunately how dilated/effaced you are has no bearing on when you will go into labor, so it could happen ANY minute!

I would look into acupuncture, you may have to do it 1-2x before it takes, but I know some moms on TB have had success with it.

Yeah, a lot, but it is like bloody mucus. so gross. the doc said I might have "some bleeding". hmmm. I am hoping it's just more progress. I have been having some cramps today.

Christina - I was thinking of trying acupuncture but am worried about cost and the one place I called (down the street) would not see me because I'm pregnant and not already a client. They wanted all my info from my OBGYN and all this plus an initial consultation. I just kind of gave up on that.

Ick! What about having DH rub your feet/ankles (there is a pressure point on the outside of your leg above your ankle that can put you into labor)

That sounds more like it could possibly be your mucus plug too.  Mine wasn't really really bloody, but did have blood in it.  I really hope it is more progress!  All things sound like signs of early labor, I hope she picks up the pace..... Come on Baby P!!!!
