I need to dye my hair badly. I had professional highlights in June but haven't done anything since then. I am too cheap to spend that much money on my hair right now, so I need recs on what at home hair color to use and/or avoid. I haven't died my own hair in years, so I have no clue what's out there anymore.
TIA!
Re: at home hair color recs
I have been using Garnier Nutrisse for years and have never had a problem. I always DIY as I can't afford to have it done professionally - in fact, I should dye my hair before we leave!

This is the color I use - love it.
I have used all kinds of brands. Up until I met Doug I dyed my own. I started going to the hairdresser he went to and she is inexpensive and good, so I have been going to her.
But I just bought Colorsilk at Target today. I have used that before and had no problems. There were coupons on them for $ off, so it was cheap. I need two boxes because my hair is so thick.
