BR: Just had our maternity tour

And it was SO nice! I am excited now. :)

The hospital where we had Nolan was nice, but there were a few things I didn't like such as no one was allowed in the nursery with him for his tests/bath, only one visitor at a time other than your support person, etc. This hospital waaaaay exceeded all of my expectations. Oh, and NO double occupancy rooms... whoohoo!

The BEST part is that if the babies have to go to the special care nursery (aka NICU), they get a private room and we get to room in with them. I think that's just awesome. :)

  • It's always comforting to know you have all the right people and equipment available if necessary! Glad this seems to be looking towards being a great experience for you.

  • Very cool - especially the no double rooms. I had a roommate and it suuuuucked.  Her kid roomed in and cried all.the.time.  Jane was in the nursery the first night since I hadn't slept in, literally, more than 48 hours, lol.  I just wanted to sleep and the crying baby next door wasn't helping -  blah!
  • Glad all the rooms are private.  The hospital where I delivered had all private rooms... I can't imagine sharing a room with another person and their baby!!  FX your girls won't need any NICU time though!
  • That is awesome!! Sounds like a great place and even better that you're happy and comfortable with it!
Finally a Mrs as of June 7, 2008

WOW!!  How big is the NICU?  Is the nurse in the room with you?  I'm just trying to fathom having room for the baby's bed and yours.

They have 16 private rooms which are about the same size as a (large) mother/baby suite. I'm not sure of the logistics of the nurses but I'll have to add that to my questions!
