Just venting

Ok I gave my two week notice at work, I've been planning on going back to school and wanted to take a little break before doing it. Well my boss got ma because I am leaving and told me that I don't need to come back to work I could just be done now.

And to top it off he is such a coward, he didn't say anything to me at work he waited until I left to call and tell me. I barley walked out the door before my phone started ringing.

I mean seriously, buddy grow a pair.

I'm not really upset because I was leaving, and I really wasn't looking forward to going there for the next two weeks, it's just strange behavior.

Sorry for the long rant, have a great night!!!

Re: Just venting

  • Something similar happened to my BF recently.  He gave his two weeks, had a nice pleasant conversation with his boss.  BF explained he was leaving because the new job offered better benefits and education assistance, etc.  Boss was happy for him and said BF could use him for a reference or come back to work for him anytime.

....Then BF's recruiter called that night and said to "mail us your work equipment.  Boss said he doesn't want to see you at his building anymore."  We were both like, umwtf?

  • Something similar happened to me a few years ago.  I came back from my vacation and gave my two weeks notice.  My boss was pretty bitter about me leaving and he tried to act like I was getting fired and told me they were letting me go because my productivity for the week wasn't as good as it could have been.  Whatever.

They don't have to accept your notice and can let you go anytime you want.  Some bosses get pretty bitter about you leaving.

  • Thanks ladies, I'm sorry it happend to you too but glad I'm not the only one sitting here going WTF? I already noticed a change in my mood and I feel wonderful. It's hard to believe workplace stress can take such a toll on one's health.
