So all of that *drama* happened Tuesday evening. Yesterday I had just finished pumping and was putting my milk in the fridge (alone in the infant room) when the mom cam in the room. The conversation went something like this:
her - I want to offer you a sincere apology for yesterday, I really do.
me - I appreciate that
her - the only reason I though anything of it was that you said you were the substitute in the room.
me - no, I said I was the only substitute and that I was not in the class when the picture money came in.
her - no you said you were the substitute in the room.
me - no that is not what I said.
her - well I wanted to apologize.
me - thank you, but next time you have a concern I hope that you check all avenues before you go to such extremes.
her - oh I didn't think it was extreme
me - yes, calling the cops was quite extreme
her - if your check was missing you would have done the same thing
me - no, I would have checked everywhere that it could have been first
her - I didn't think it was extreme, my husband didn't think it was extreme and neither did the cop, so you are the only one with that opinio
at that I just walked away... there was no winning that conversation. So there was my 'sincere apology.'
AND today I had a diabetic child tell the director that I told him he couldn't have a snack this afternoon - ugh! how do you ladies deal with kids trying to sabotage you at every turn?
Re: Update to yesterday's post
but she was right...
oh and when I saw her daughter she said, "I still don't have my check." and I told her that it had been taken care of and mailed to the picture people. She stood up and said, "so I talked to a police officer for nothing?!" (very sweet) I had to try so hard not to laugh when I said, "it seems so." She said it again a few times yesterday. and today I was calling her spelling words - blame - "it is not nice to blame people for things they didn't do." - I was feeling a little passive aggressive.
I think it's strange that the mom felt the need to apologize when she still feels she was completely justified in her actions. Sounds to me like she was only doing it as a way to get you to apologize to her. What a complete jerk. I hate that people like her are raising children.

Sometimes their are many negatives to being a teacher and it is not fun!
One time, I had a student tell the vp that I grabbed and twisted his wrist in order to get his cell phone out of his hand. Luckily, I had an in class support teacher in the room with me and she verified the true story, but kids can be so sneaky and deceitful sometimes.
Sorry you have to deal with all this BS!
