I am having major fall cleaning impulses
I would think I was nesting, but I know I'm not KU.
I want to clean EVERYTHING in my house right now. I want to purge crap that we haven't used in years. I want to make rooms work for me now.
I think the thing that started this was last weekend I realized I have a ton of various bedding. Old sheets from DH before we lived together. Our old comforter. And extra duvet set for the air mattress, a ton of duvet covers from when I couldn't convince DH to let me buy the set I wanted from C&B.
I mean there are 2 people in this house and we share the same bed! I have 2 sets for a guest bedroom that hasn't seen guests since last Christmas when my parents stayed with us during the snowstorm b/c they had no food at their condo.
I feel like I need to clean clean clean this weekend, but we're going OOT for a belated anniversary trip. Maybe since I seemed to forget the spring cleaning b/c of our remodel, it's in full swing now that it's fall?

I get this way, (not even just when I have a brand new house to settle in on) when I know the holidays are coming, and that I'll want to decorate my house, but I hate the notion of decorating a cluttered house that isn't working for me!
We unpacked 3 extra comforter sets when we unpacked this month in the new house. This does NOT count the 3 sets we have ON beds right now. (Nor does it reflect the 4 sets we have at our NH house!) I seriously have a problem with bedding. :-)
Buuuut.... I sacrificed an older queen sized comforter to become the filling for the two king-size shams for our new bed! I just cut it to size, folded them up, and shoved it in the sham! So, not only did I not have to go out and buy two new kind size pillows (which would be pretty much decorative, anyway) but also repurposed an old comforter i wasn't going to use on a bed again.
Sure, I have a whole pile left of other stuff to deal with, but I definitely put that in my "fall cleaning victories" list!

I'm like Mar, I get this urge at the change of every season and maaaan do I need to do it now. I want to move so bad so it's easier to only pack the stuff we want. I can't even think about all the crap.
Funny you mention bedding - I was just looking at all our towels. For just Nick and I we probably have 20 towels. Not necessary!!

Anytime I have to pull out decorations I want to clean and organize so that the put away will be super easy.
Last year I put the decorations away super $hitty and so far pulling them out has been a complete mess.
