Corporate environment, business casual dress-code on Monday through Thursday.  Jeans on Friday.  If you owned a pair of pants that were printed to look like denim, when would you wear them?[Poll]

  • For the record, these are a co-worker's pants, not mine.

You can wear your pajama jeans hp it's okay Wink

  • I would have picked "special snowflake" if you gave that option.

If it were a pantsuit, like a jacket/slacks combo in a brushed color that sort of looked like denim but didn't have denim-style pockets, I'd wear it on any other day as well.  Not having that info I chose just on Friday.

I intentionally didn't give a SS, I want people to commit.  It's not a suit, it's just the pants.  They look like jeans, contrast stitching & everything.

Co-worker is mad because she was asked not to wear them again except on Friday.  She asked my opinion & I said that I thought they were only Friday-appropriate.  She's mad at me now too.  If you don't want my opinion, don't ask.

So, I was just wondering what other people thought.

  • I don't get how people can be so "dumb" about work appropriate clothing.  They had to stop letting the people in the larger office associated with our wear jeans on Fridays because people kept showing up in inappropriate clothing.

I'm not exactly a fashion queen but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that jeans day does not mean you can wear your ripped up faded jeans with an untucked shirt and flip flops.

I'd say for sure Friday only pants.

This changes my answer.  I didn't realize they looked exactly like jeans.

I have a pain of pants that have a demin like print but they are most definitely business approporiate slacks.  That is what I was picturing.

And it really doesn't matter what they look like.  If your employer asks that you don't wear them, then you don't wear them.  Simple as that and no point in her being all huffy about it.

  • I think a better poll would be to ask something about how old you'd assume said coworker is for being pissed at you.  She asked a question, you answered.  9 out of 10 times, if you're going to get pissed about the answer you already know you are wrong.

If they look like jeans, they are jeans.

But we are the 99%.  Let's plan occupy HP's office in our jeans.

This.  I also have slacks that are a demin like print, but have the stitching and pockets of slacks.
