Venues for 25 person business meeting all day
Trying to find a place that is inexpensive to rent for an entire day (8-5) for a training session, so it needs a computer with projector, catering and room to fit 25 people. Any ideas? Any restaurants that do such a thing? I'm going to call around some hotels, just curious if anyone had suggestions.
Re: Venues for 25 person business meeting all day
Hotels of course. Omaha marriott is my fave but I'm bias as I worked there.
I think your restaurants are going to be harder to do since some (ie Biaggi's) doesn't open till 10 and you will probably want some breakfast along with lunch and drink service all day. You can try Perkins but not sure if that atmosphere is what you are looking for regarding your meeting.
Look into the community center off of 108th & Center. Look at your smaller hotels to see if they have rooms but it may require you to order food in from restaurants but that is easy as Qdobe, etc can deliver. Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inns, Comfort Inns, etc.
Also, UNMC (Sorrell Center) does outside events now in their meeting space. Look into Durham Museum (outside of the box thinking but know they have rooms).
Doubletree downtown, has an executive meeting package up on one of their top floors and their pricing is all inclusive I believe with meals and snacks, etc.
That is another thing, if you know you will have 25 to feed, when negotiating see if they would be (hotels) willing to do a Food & Beverage minimum instead of a room rate if the room rate is too high for you.
Also, if you have flexibility of dates, as if you can get a cheaper rate if you have the meeting on a day that is not as busy.
I've used Biaggi's back room (the one behind the fireplace). I think we had a minimum $ amount to spend and the room was free. We easily met this with everyone ordering lunch.
I was able to bring my laptop in and plug it into the system to feed the projector that's on the ceiling.
We have used their executive meeting center quite a few times and it is VERY nice.
