Morning!

Yay!  Last night I remembered a QOTD I wanted to ask and wanted to do it this morning.  I forgot until now, but there isn't one yet.  Yay!

So what's everyone up to today?

QOTD:  What's your favorite magazine at the moment?

*****

I'm glad this week is over, although my Dubai trip is looking less and less likely. Boo.  Someone invited us to go hiking on Saturday and I may have to work, so that is no good.  Last week at this time we were planning a nice, luxurious long weekend in Dubai.  Now we're not sure we should spend the money and I have to work, so it's been cut short in any event.  I'm sad 2011 is ending on such a bad note.  It started out with such promise.

QOTD:  Oxygen.  It's a women's health and fitness magazine that is a bit more intense than Shape or any of that stuff.  It's more for bodybuilders.

Re: Morning!

  • Morning ladies!  Thank goodness it's Friday...I feel like this week has just crawled past.  Nothing much going on today, except work, and typical cleaning stuff so I don't have to deal with it over the weekend.

QOTD:  I have quite a few that I can't pick between.  I love Women's Health, Runner's World, and Real Simple (to name a few).

  • I just booked our Christmas vacation tickets. I'm waiting on my grocery delivery then I'm off to the Spirit of Christmas fair.

QOTD: I don't really read magazines, but when I do it's usually something trashy like US or it's the polar opposite like Kiplinger's.

  • Morning!  Today it's all about preparing for tonight's dinner with friends and a walk with the pup and an old childhood friend in the woods. I'm excited about tonight, it's all new things to cook!

QOTD: No time to read magazines! They are so hard to read with one hand so they've not been bought since E was born.

What about the Economist?  I rarely read it in print, but I read it online a lot.  I still think of it as a magazine though, oddly enough.  I guess because DH had a subscription in NY and always had it with him, so I just got used to associating it with a magazine.

  • Good morning!

Finally Friday!. BF moves flats this weekend so I'll be helping him with that, as well as making a peanut butter-chocolate cake that I saw in a Nestie's siggy. It looks amazing.

QOTD: I haven't bought a magazine in ages, but when I do it's Cosmo or Glamour. I think I'm getting old though, because I don't know who half the celebrities are that they mention.

  • Morning! I'm up to absolutely nothing today, and so far it's fabulous. DD wanted to get up at 5:30, but I successfully distracted her until she fell back asleep around 6, so I got to sleep in until 7:15 :-)

QOTD: I read a German Christian magazine fairly regularly and would like to renew my subscription to Sojourners - a US Christian magazine that I really appreciate for providing a counterpoint to right-wing political Christianity in the US (example on one hot issue - instead of focusing all their efforts on making abortion illegal, this movement wants to work together with pro-choicers to create strategies to reduce the number of abortions (e.g. through financial aid for mothers) since that's a goal everyone can agree on and is much more realistic than expecting no abortions to occur if they're illegal).

I like the Economist and I had a subscription in the States. My beef with them is that I can't finish one issue before they're sending me another one. I've read books with less words than an issue of the Economist, but it's good stuff if you have time to read it.

  • Hey folks!  Not much for me today besides my usual keeping-house-for-MIL-who-just-had-her-hip-replaced.  Going to dinner with friends tonight, though!

QOTD: I want a subscription to the US version of Marie Claire.  I always buy it in airports and I like it a lot.  I subscribed to US Glamour from Norway but it got to be the same every month so I let it expire.

  • Just another day at work...then I plan to go home and clean the apt. Exciting ;-)

QOTD: I don't read any magazines here, but at the gym sometimes I will pick up a Women's Health or Runners to thumb through.

We're headed to the Maldives on Christmas Eve!

  • Morning! We might go to a Guy Fawkes celebration tonight.  Not sure though.  It all depends on W's mood.

QOTD:  I rarely read magazines.  My MIL got me a subscription to Woman's Day and I kind of hate it.  It makes me feel like an old woman.  Anything that I'd want to read in a magazine I've probably already read online.

  • Morning...

Last night involved too many drinks. I'm living the college life again at 26, I don't think my body deals with it as well as it did at 20.

QOTD: I don't read any magazines here, but I usually love Glamor (I know, typical girl).

  • Good morning! I'm working from home today...but am getting off to a slow start since I slept till 9:30. oops! lol. I was so tired though. Then I have to go to the dr later today, then looking forward to a relaxing evening with DH.

QOTD: Um, I don't really read real magazines...I do subscribe to the New England Journal of Medicine, does that count?!

  • Morning. Up early to go to the DMV to register my car and possibly change my license back to my maiden name!  Excited for a fun weekend with DILF :)

QOTD: don't read magazines. I set a 50 books to read in 2011 challenge and am hopelessly behind so I'm only reading books!

  • Good morning! Super happy because I got tickets to see New Order in London! It sold out in 5 minutes! I saw them in Brussels and it was great and I can't wait to go and see them in London, I'm a huge fan.

QOTD: I read crappy magazines and only when I take a long train or plane ride. Usually something like Glamour.

  • Afternoon!

I'm very happy it's Friday though the weekend is going to be very quiet as DH has  (man) flu...

QOTD: I haven't bought one in ages but I like Marie Claire UK.

  • Good afternoon!

H left for Paris early this morning and I've just come home from visiting a friend and grocery shopping. Another friend is coming over in a bit for a wine play date!

QOTD: I really like US Marie Claire. I don't read magazines that often though. Lately I've been looking at French interior design magazines to help my H with his work though.
