Um, does this seem odd to you that a cat needs anti-depressants? Her and Niles got into a brutal fight last night - they fuss occassionally but this was really bad...Niles has bite marks all over his little body - he is so sore they had to gas him to fix his wounds. I am devastated. I think some of the issue is that for 9 - 10 hours a day they have been locked together in DH and my bedroom due to the renos - in fact, this spring they were locked together in the bedroom because we had another reno going on...maybe she just got sick of his sh!t and went after him?
Anyway, she *can* be a little high strung (wonder where she got that from?) so the vet suggested anti-depressants.....that just seems so drastic.....
Thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences?
Re: Our vet wants to put Lilli on anti-depressants
It's not really that drastic. Sometimes, our pets just need to be leveled out just as we do.
My vet suggested kitty prozac for Extra if she continued spraying, but the problem seems to have subsided for the most part. It was a territorial issue for her, as far as we could tell.
Our dog was on Prozac for a short time. I took him off it though when I came home and found him chilling on the couch listening to some Jimi Hendrix jams and burning incense.
...totally joking... though yes, he was on Prozac.
