where can I find the wool(?) socks to wear with riding boots?

I'm assuming they are wool but I could really care less.

I've seen people wearing them so they poke out the top of their boots. Where would I find these?

  • REI or Academy... you might consider buying socks and cutting the tops off (if they're not tall enough) and then wearing regular socks down lower where nobody sees them.
  • I bought some on Saturday at Charming Charlies.  They had a ton of cute options there for them .

I didn't even think of academy.

I might also do the suggested and cut off some of DH's dress socks. Don't tell him! ;-)

Hmmm, the CC near me had a lot of plain/solid colored options.  The ones I got were just tan.  I preferred them to the ones I would have picked up at sporting goods store because most of those are meant for much colder weather than we have here, my feet would burn up.  These were cotton, much cooler on my feet.

But I also saw solid colored, cotton, over-the-knee socks at Target.  They were on the same aisle as the tights & trouser socks.

  • I was just flipping through a catalog the other day that sold legwarmers styled like this.  I can't remember for the life of me which catalog it was now...Boden maybe??

  • I got some cheap gray ones at Gap. They aren't too thick and they look really cute with my boots.

  • Target usually has a good selection of boot socks.  I got several pairs last year, and they held up really well.
  • I got a pair at DSW yesterday. They also had legwarmers.
