Re: and an appointment w/ realtor....
to buy
it's a fixer and needs some TLC.... but then so do I
I know I've probably missed a few posts/updates on here from you, so take this advice for whatever it's worth. Are you sure that you're ready to deal with the stress of owning a house on your own right now? Particularly a fixer? I know everyone is different, but I would not have been in any place to try to keep a house right after my divorce. I just don't want to see you get in over your head.
Thanks starting2010 for concern. It will be my 5th house purchase (all but the last were fixers) so I've been through it before (my MIL even gave me miter saw one Xmas) and I'm looking forward to a project that I can focus on. But I told my mom last night - "If it needs a new foundation or has structural damage: I'm out. But if it needs new cabinets, tile, paint, lighting installed... I've done it before (sometimes working alone!!) so I think I can handle it."
I may regret it... but I think I'll love it
I'm also looking at two other house that are move-in-ready (in decent but not so cute neighborhoods)
