Weekly recipe swap...

So did people try crock pot recipes this week? How did it go? Successes? Failures?

What should we do next week?

Italian maybe?

Re: Weekly recipe swap...

  • I actually tried this end of last week, but I'm posting now about it anyway.

    I made Heather's creamy chicken tacos - http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2011/06/slow-cooker-creamy-tacos-recipe.html

I thought they were ok - I think the biggest issue was I couldn't find the sante fe flavor cooking creme so I had to just use the plain cooking creme. BOO. But I already had ALL the ingredients in my car so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Ken didn't love it. I think I also didn't use quite enough chicken. I did add corn though. I had leftovers the day after but used it like dip with some tostitos. I would try this again if I can find the right flavor of cooking creme.

  • I didn't make a crockpot recipe this week. Mind if I start a new thread for the Italian recipes? That way we don't mix them all up and they are easy to find?

  • I made Amy's applesauce and served it with pork chops and broccoli. It was amazingly good. Especially when warm. I'll be making it again.

  • I didn't cook once this week. :( This week was crazy. I plan on trying some out next week though.
  • I had roasted a whole chicken in the crockpot...but it's not something new to me.  I'm looking forward to trying the Hawaiin Chicken that was posted.  (Mary I think?)

I love that recipe too. I made some more and we have been eating for snacks and then I used the rest for applesauce nut bread.

I do plan to make that mac n cheese recipe Heather posted as well.
