I've been at my current job for about 1 1/2 years and licensed for just over 2 years. Do I still put my GPA on my resume or do I take it off and just leave the "c u m laude" part?
Edit - d@mn censors.
Re: Resume question
I personally would leave out the GPA so you don't come off as "young/immature". I dunno maybe that's just a stigma I have in my mind though.
I'm in a similar situation, though I've only been out of school 1 year. I was told to keep my GPA on my resume by a couple people, even though I've got the c u m laude. So, mine is on there.
But, I don't really think it's a big deal either way.
I'm hoping to leave it off for space purposes. I tried taking off my college GPA because I didn't think that was particularly relevant, but it looked weird having one GPA and not the other.
My other problem is figuring out where to put where I'm licensed. I was previously told to put a section called "Professional Associations" at the bottom and list them there, but that takes up so much d@mn room!
I've only got my law school GPA on mine. I never really thought about the imbalance. Hmmm...maybe I should take my law school one off. Because there's no way I'm putting my undergrad one on.
I hate resume writing. Mine is totally stuffed. I have no more room to adjust the margins or font. It is packed.
How long has it been since you graduated undergrad? I think you should leave it on there if it's been less than 5 years. After that, no one will give a crap. lol.
I have been updating my resume recently and I had to laugh at how much I tinkered with the margins and the fonts to fit everything on one page.
ESF - stuffed on one page or two? Because most legal CV's from the applicants for Summer Associate positions were a page and a half. My dad's is 4 pages.
DH's medical CV is a page and a quarter.
You're a professional - it can go over a page provided the spill over isn't a result of fluff.
