I'm fabric stupid and need help, por favor.
I want to make a DIY crib skirt using the Young House Love tutorial.
How many yards of fabric should I buy for this?
I know this will depend a bit on the measurement of my crib (I have the Ikea Gulliver if anyone just so happens to have one also and has done this by some chance) but I figure most all cribs will be around the same general size. I'm okay with overbuying by a bit as I can use the fabric in another project.

Thank you!
If there is a pattern, it'll affect my ability to just cut and piece? The fabric I have in mind does have a pattern.
It will depend on direction of the pattern (whether it runs the length of the fabric or across), and whether or not there is a repeat that needs to be matched. The pattern repeat measurements vary from pattern to pattern, and that measurement may not coincide with the measurement you need, so you may need a bit extra yardage to allow for matching it up.
If you have a hard time visualizing it, it may help to make a paper pattern of the finished size and take it with you to lay on the fabric to see where you will be piecing. The people who work at the store might help you, but it really depends on the store, as to how helpful they will be.
