Good question, I am interested in ideas. It seems like every doctor appointment I go to, she asks if I want my tubes tied after the c/s. It bugs me that she keeps asking, shouldn't that be in my chart? I'm scared that they're going to do it anyway even though I say no every time.
I don't think we'll have any more kids but I don't want to make any permanent decisions quite yet. I'm not sure if I want to take the pill either. Maybe we'll just abstain

well, both of those are hormonal forms. I can't take any hormones so I know one of my other options is the copper IUD (paragard). The other IUD - Mirena (?)- has hormones, I believe).
You would probably be a good candidate for an IUD and they have some with no hormones. The Mirena has hormones and is good for 3 years. Paraguard does not have hormones and is good for 5 years. If you don't plan to bf I believe they can be inserted before you leave the hospital or at your 6 week pp check up. If you do plan to bf, I'm not sure when you can get them. One problem you can run into is if you are going to a Catholic hospital or a dr affiliated with a Catholic hospital. The dr office I worked in did lots of IUDs until the nuns caught wind and then we had to stop putting them in as contraceptive and could only do it for heavy bleeding. If a patient wanted one and we could not get them diagnosed correctly, we had a non affiliated dr we referred to.
As for us, we are just using condoms and prayers :0)
DH says we're done. I'm not sure. I always wanted 3, but I'm not totally set on that yet. Despite him saying he doesn't want anymore, he's never even mentioned getting anything permanent done (it'll be him, not me when the time comes).
I hate how I am on birth control, so we'll probably just use condoms and/or "pull and pray".
When the time is right, DH will probably get snipped.

I didn't know there were hormone free options. Good to know, thanks.
Although I do love Nikki's idea of abstaining. That sounds fabulous at this point, if only I could get H on board with that
