Is anyone else planning on watching this? I think this is the name of it. It's starting on 11/13 on TLC. I am pretty interested to see what they do with it ... I hope I'm not disappointed.
Re: American Made Muslims
I'll be honest and say no. I will not watch this and am not looking forward to seeing promos for it when I am watching something else on TLC. I have very personal reasons for this though.
Okay?! Care to share?
I think the show looks great. It looks funny, why not. TLC has several shows that go out there from the polygamy, to the Duggars, The Little Couple. Everyone is different and even though I am not a polygamist and have negative feelings on some polygamist (men who marry 12 y/o, etc.) it is still interesting to see their lives.
Personal reasons like you hate muslims?
Haha - I keep checking back hoping that she posts a response...
I am too
She changes the channel when the Chrysler commercial is on, too, I bet.
Oh please! So ridiculous!
Some people on here just go with what the majority of posters say to make one person feel alienated, or because they don't want to actually stand up and say what they really think.
I am just being honest and saying that no, I am not excited for this show and I do not want to see it. Just because it is dealing with another culture/religion, everyone starts jumping down my throat with no good reason. I don't HAVE to tell you crazy women with way too much time on your hands what exactly my personal reasons are. I am simply offering the fact that the reason I don't want to see it is because of something- NOT because it is Muslim or in Michigan, as one poster so cleverly suggested.
Why even put it out there if you aren't willing to elaborate on the reasons even the promos bother you?
You're the one that vague-posted - if you didn't want to explain yourself, why would you have said anything at all? And of course we're going to assume the worse when you post something like that without any details. You could have easily said "Nope, I'm not interested. I don't really like reality tv shows" and we all would have moved past your post without any further thought.
If you're not interested in sharing your opinions, then maybe internet message boards aren't the right fit for you.
Ditto.
Not to mention you also said you don't even want to see the promos - that's just a little strange. I mean, there are plenty of shows out there I'm not interested in, but I couldn't care less if promos of them played while I was watching something else.

It starts next Sun, Nov 13 at 10E/9C.

I did share my opinion- I don't want to watch it. You all just have your panties in a bunch because I won't say why.
No one is getting their panties in a bunch. The show is following Muslims living their lives in America. If you don't even want to see the commercials then it would be a fair assumption that you have a problem with Muslims.
There's a quote about making assumptions makes an ass out of you...
Well, since we're all obviously wrong why don't you set us right?
I won't hold my breath.
Yeah, I wouldn't hold your breath. I sincerely hope you are all not so uptight and bitchy in real life.
Oh, come on. You have to realize how it sounds when you say you won't watch a show about Muslims because of "personal reasons". And then the fact that you put it out there, then refused to elaborate, of course we are going to think it's because you hate Muslims. Why even post something like that if you're not going to elaborate? A simple "no, I probably won't watch" would have sufficed if you weren't going to elaborate on your supposed "personal reasons". Saying something like that and then just leaving it at that is awfully AW-ish, if you ask me.
i'll be watching!
i love learning about other cultures...unlike some posters
