Feeling a little overwhelmed..

I've been in banking the last 5 years. I decided on a career change to make more money and have better hours. I am currently working on a certification to become a Legal Assistant. I tried searching on Monster and Career Builder and don't see anything. I just posted my resume on Career Builder but I don't feel good about it. Any recs?

Re: Feeling a little overwhelmed..

  • Have you checked your local Craigslist? Also try Indeed.com.

  • Do you have any friends/business associates on LinkedIn?  That would be a good place to get some leads.

Also, have you checked with your local community colleges/universities for career guidance?  They may have someone there who could help you.

Does your area have a "Helpwanted.com" site?  If you are near a metro area, it is likely there is one, such as SpokaneHelpWanted.com, for example.

Good luck with your career change!

  • Have you checked your state bar Web site? The state bar here has a weekly publication that they post online and that has job listings.
  • My husband works as a legal assistant. I think he found his company's ad on Monster back when he applied.

  • Have you tried lawjobs.com.  Also, I would try to look for agencies in your area (i.e. Robert Half Legal).  Best of luck - I hope you can find something with higher pay and better hours
