TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

DH won't let me get another dog, but I was thinking a kitten might be a good playmate. He's more open to that...

If that's the case, then it sounds like he'd do VERY well with a little brother. Just make sure it's a kitten so A) established Spike can assert his dominance and not feel threatened (and be boss kitteh) and
It's easier to mix a young cat in with an adult cat than an adult. That said, it's often easier to mix opposite sexes as well. But if they'll let you bring Spike to test them together, GO FOR ITTTT!
