Computer Store with knowledgeable staff
I am looking to buy a new desktop computer that is fast, but not very expensive. I want to go into a store to discuss with the employees what the best bang for my buck is, but I don't know what store has the most knowledgeable staff. Any suggestions? Are there any small, local shops that would be best. I honestly don't know how much the employees at Best Buy, Office Depot and the like really know about computers. Thanks.

Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!

Re: Computer Store with knowledgeable staff
When I bought my laptop at NFM, I was really surprised how much the salesman knew about computers. I told him exactly what I would be using it for and he gave me a few options and told me some pros/cons of each. Small, local shops may be more expensive and if you are looking for the most bang for your buck, I would try NFM and see if they can help. Plus, they have a really big selection!
I have bought all of my computers and laptops 6+ from Best Buy (the one on Dodge near 72nd). They have always answered all of my questions and if you watch their ads have great deals.
My parents bought a computer in January from Staples here in town and they raved about the service.
Personally, I hate Office Depot. Service is poor and half the time the computers are out of stock.
Officemax has friendly employees but I think the computers are expensive as that is not their specialty.
Ahh DH was an HP rep back in college.
That was a sweet gig, the pay and the mileage were off the chain.
But ditto PP, Id go to NFM or Best Buy. DH normally builds pc's for us, but the past few we have bought from NFM and Best Buy and the service was fine. There is a buy named Brad, in PC sales at NFM, I'd suggest him. He used to work at Best Buy when DH did the HP gig, and Skipygrl mentioned he was at NFM now (we know him from highschool).
I can totally wait, wasn't planning to buy until Black Friday or after anyway, just starting my research now. I'll PM you in a couple weeks to find out when he might be around the store to help us out!
