G-town Cupcake Question

I have a bunch of cupcakes for a bridal shower tomorrow - can they stay out or do they need to go in the fridge overnight?

Ha!  I'm sure they wouldn't!  But I think they would stay freshest at my place.  :-)

  • I'd put them in the fridge to be safe, because I think they use buttercream frosting.

  • I swear I read an interview with them that suggested putting them in the freezer overnight to store them--but definitely the fridge instead of the counter.

  • I would say be safe and put them in an air tight container or in the fridge
  • Buttercream is shelf stable, so it doesn't need to be refrigerated.  However, if you ordered the delicious red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, they do have to be refrigerated.  They're not as good cold though, so make sure to take them out with enough time to get them back to room temp.

  • We got Georgetown cupcakes for an engagement party last year and they told us to never put them in the fridge, since it dries the cake out.  They said the best way to store them is at room temperature in tupperware OR putting the boxes of cupcakes in the microwave.  I used the microwave, and the leftovers tasted great for several days.
