Psych

Anyone spot the pineapple this week? I DID! Big Smile Also, I thought I would like that Juliet & Shawn finally got together, but I'm not feeling it.

And last thought on this episode: Did anyone else freak out like a 10 year old girl when they saw Joey McIntyre was the guest star?

Re: Psych

  • How great was the psych out at the end when the did The Right Stuff?
  • I loved it when they did The Right Stuff!  Bless my poor DH who had no idea who he was or why they were doing that.  I blame the fact that he was a 15 year old boy in England when NKOTB were at the height of their popularity.

I also am not liking the Shawn and Juliet together.  The dynamic and the chemistry isn't there which is odd since they are dating in real life.

  • I haven't seen this episode yet, but wanted to chime in that I agree about Shawn and Juliet.  I actually really liked it when he was with Rachel Leigh Cook (forget her character's name) because they seemed to have some chemistry.

I feel like the show just didn't want it to be a big deal when Shawn and Juliet got together and barely even mention it, which is fine, except that they've just overshadowed the relationship completely.

Ah well.  My favorite relationship on this show will always be Gus/Shawn anyway.

  • I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I actually like the way that they have handled the Juliet/Shawn thing.  My daughter and I were talking about this a few days ago....we both felt like they have a relationship that started with work and friendship, and it seems like a realistic progression.  Plus, I like that we pretty much only see the work/friendship part of it, and their relationship isn't bigger than the cases, since solving the cases is really is the point of the show.

I just watched all of the Rachel Leigh Cook episodes, and I didn't think that worked all that well...they were cute, but there was something missing.  I like her, and I liked the character but felt like after the first one, she just didn't commit to the character and make something of her.

I do have a show related peeve though....I worked in Santa Barbara for many years, and live fairly near, and it bugs the heck out of me that nothing actually looks like Santa Barbara.  The overhead, sweeping city shots are the only thing that is real, and Vancouver will never look like Santa Barbara, no matter how many palm trees in pots they stick in the scene.  Stick out tongue

We have more fun figuring out where in Vancouver they are.  "Hey that's the library!"  "Now they're in Gastown!"

This!    and I love Psych, it is the one show that makes me laugh out loud at least once per episode, especially now that some of my other regular shows are letting me down..

Oh, and Joey McIntyre is still so adorable, I loved his guest spot. =)

  • I didn't realize it was him until the very end. I thought to myself, 'Hmm, that guy looks like Joey McIntyre' but didn't even entertain the thought that it actually was him. I'm even the right age to have been a fan back in the mid-80s! LOL

I agree that Juliet & Shawn just have weird chemistry now that they're dating.

I've never, ever spotted the pineapple. I gave up looking a long time ago, though.

  • I have never spotted the pineapple; DH has seen it a couple times. I had to try & explain to him who Joey McIntyre was but eventually just gave up.

I didn't know Shawn & Juliet were dating in real life. That may explain the lack of chemistry on camera (I've seen it happen with other couples). I was surprised also that now that they are together it's hardly addressed after all this time that I'm sure everyone wanted them together.

I think this season is one of the funniest!
