I love playing hostess, but...

I put so much work into cooking and cleaning when we have guests over that I tend to not be able to enjoy myself as much as I wish I could. I've been prepping for our wine tasting party all day today and even though I still have some cooking to do, I'm sitting and relaxing for a little bit. I want to be able to have fun tonight!

 Anyone else feel that way about hosting things?-

    Right there with you today.  Girls' night is tonight, with the girls from church that I'm trying to make my friends!  Doing fondue, based on the board recs, but I have been shopping, prepping and cleaning since 11 am.  Now I just want a nap, but there is still so much to do!

    I feel you. We host a few things throughout the year and I'm always running around until the last minute and then I still have reclean everything the next day. I don't even know why I go through the trouble to clean in the first place :) I honestly usually take a half a day off on a Friday if we're having people over on a Saturday. It helps me get things done a little bit earlier so that I can relax.

    We host something at least every other weekend (especially during football season) so I am finally really used to just letting things go and really good at letting others help with whatever they want to help with:)

    DH always says we don't need to eat lunch or dinner before a party because we can eat all of the food I make at the party.  Somehow, I rarely get to eat food at my own parties.

    So glad you enjoyed yourself! I love hostessing parties although the cleanup is the worst!
