What were you doing a year ago today?
Inspired by a post on my birth month board, what was your life like a year ago today (or if not to the day--because I have no idea what I did November 5 of last year--what were you doing in November 2010?) What has changed for you in the past year?

My Blog
I got word that my visa was granted on Nov. 9, 2010.
I have moved hemispheres and begin a new life in Australia.

Now Nesting from Chicago, IL My nail blog:
I know exactly what I was doing. I had a fever and felt miserable, was 11w pregnant exactly, and my husband drove me to Bonn for a scholarship interview (which I got, yoohoo!). We drove back that same night to go to our Bible study's annual retreat the next day, where I announced my pregnancy to them.
I now have a regular income even though I'm not working (score!), have a baby, have been banned from taking hormonal BC for the rest of my life (I got a deep vein thrombosis after my c/s), and know that DH and I will be going back to the States for 5 months next summer!
My son just turned one a few days ago, so this is easy. A year ago we had checked out of the hospital on the 5th (which was a day early) and then had to return on the 6th because the hospital forgot to run a test. That was annoying.
I like this fun and reflective question. A year ago from the 5th, DH and I were just finishing up a weekend in Mallorca--our first solo time away together post-wedding. It was a wonderful weekend of relaxing, good food, lovely people and delightful sights, and we managed it all on a really tight budget.
I won't lie; I wish we were going again this year!
What an awesome question!
We were in Ireland, driving back from Galway to Dublin at the end of our trip. I was getting ready to return to work after being out for a month with the ectopic pregnancy. I felt like I was ready to get back to life and was looking forward to the familiar pace of work.
I cannot believe that a year later, we are packing up our apartment and slowly moving in to our house. Tomorrow, I return to work from our fall break and have 2 weeks left before I go on maternity leave. What an incredible difference a year makes!
I year ago we were in Tromso, Norway, going dog sledding and watching the Northern Lights. It's DH's birthday in a few days, so we were celebrating that and had a spa day planned out for our last day there.
Now, I have no plans for his birthday and haven't figured out a gift for him yet! Yikes.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
I was doing a Masters. Not much has changed since then
I'm one day late.
I don't know what I was doing on 5 November last year, but seven years ago yesterday H and I went on our first date to Battersea Park to watch the fireworks for Guy Fawkes day.
In November of last year, I got glasses, traveled to Copenhagen and Stockholm for work and celebrated Thanksgiving with family friends in St. Andrews.
Nothing special. Recovering from my surgery in Dubai, waking up at 6am so I could Skype with DH (then bf/fiance), going to work and reading a lot since I couldn't go to the gym.
Things are much more interesting this November. I'm sure I won't forget it. I wish it was for a good reason.
I was working in Israel while XH searched for a new job and used all day.
Now I'm back in NJ, working a different job and happily divorced!
I had to check my photos to be sure :-) A year ago in November I went to Italy for a week with a girlfriend and had an amazing time with lots of pasta and red wine. It's been a pretty eventful year this year for a bunch of bad reasons but fingers crossed next year will have better news!
It is sureal how much can change in a year though...
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
I checked an old syllabus to find out
This time last year I was collecting papers from the students of a college course I was teaching and not really enjoying. At that point I was probably hopeful that I'd get a job teaching high school for September, because the big hiring months were coming up. I definitely didn't know I'd be moving to my parents' hometown after getting a job teaching 8th grade a week before the school year started!
Life can definitely take you in unexpected directions.

Fun poll!
I don't remember anything special about november of last year. Although it was only my 2nd month of rotations at school, so that was pretty exciting. And we were planning our trip to Istanbul and Athens, where we met up with my parents, over new years. In some ways, a lot has changed, especially since DH started a new job in January. But a lot of things are still the same - I'm still in school, and we're still in the same apartment.
