BF and I went to TEDxOrlando today (where x = an independently organized event) in Winter Garden. If you're familiar with TED, the people who speak at these events are pretty phenomenal, right? Beautiful ideas, often very simple, shared in a variety of venues about a variety of topics all over the world. Awesome.
Today's event was no different. While we couldn't stay for the entire day, we did get to see ten of the speakers. All amazing. One reminded me of my INs.
A man named Eric Whitacre (long story short) composed a piece of music and conducted a 'virtual choir'. He had people from all over the world submit YouTube videos of them singing in their range (not sure if that's the right word) -- soprano, alto, etc. -- and put together a collage of these videos, edited and cut appropriately, and wound up with this incredible piece of work: Lux Aurumque
It reminded me of this board, this little IN family that we have
We're spread out to every corner of the world and yet, our voices all come together in harmony. We share ideas and life stories. We're a part of something bigger than ourselves. Imagine what we could do ![]()
So awesome. Hope you enjoy!
Re: TED Watchers (and those who have no idea what that is...)
I loved the virtual choir link--thank you for sharing. Now I want to join!
And, I wouldn't mind seeing TED either. Glad you had a great time.
