Back in May I had to take Devyn Luke and myself to Righttime because we all had strep.
With our insurance we have to call the primary care provider afterwards to get a referral for the Righttime visit. I did this immediately on Monday.
A while later we got a bill for the visit so apparently they didnt get the referral. Called them, sent it again. We sent the referrals 3 times in total. The last time a couple of weeks ago and my husband called the insurance to be 100% sure they have them, because at this point they already started talking collections.
The insurance said they have them all, it's all set and they are settling the issue with collections.
Today I received a bright pink paper basicly just saying pay now or we will come and get our money. We are livid.
And to make matters worse, I think I may have strep, tried to get an appt with Righttime and they refuse to see me because of this issue.
The lady on the appointment line changed her attitude with me completely as soon as she saw that collection issue, and made me seem like total scum. I explained to her the issue, obviously I could tell her any kind of lie but I still think she could give people on the phone the benefit of the doubt and at least stay friendly.
So now we are made to look like a$$holes that don't pay, my credit report is probably down the drain, I can't be seen by a doctor and none of it is our fault.
Thanks for letting me vent
Re: Sooooo pissed *Vent*
Sorry to hear it's been a complete mess, and that you're sick again. Can they actually refuse to see you? Maybe try a PatientFirst?
I'd call them and let them know you're reporting them to the BBB. That might make them find the referrals you've sent them three times.
First of all....I'm sorry. Being sick absolutely sucks. I thought that I had strept too this past week but it turns out, it's a realllllly bad cold. I have been popping Mucinex non-stop.
At this poin t(if I'm reading things correctly)t, it sounds like it may just be a timing issue between Righttime receiving their payment from the insurance company. Most insurance companies make payments to the larger providers only once (at the end) or twice (middle and end) in a month.
Do you know if you can set up an online account on your insurance company's website to view your care? If so, you should have online access to see your EOB's-check and see if the claims were processed yet or if they're pending. If you don't, call the insurance company and ask if the claims have been paid (not if they referrals were received) and if so, get the remittance number for the check/electronic payment that was made to the provider. If they have, then it could be that the billing department for Nighttime hasn't updated your account; which is a huge PITA; but these billing departments aren't on-site at the urgent care facilities...so the woman on the phone can only report what she sees. I know it doesn't excuse her attitude.
In the mean time, if you can wait to call your own PCP until tomorrow to get an appointment, I would. If not, try Patient First. The GB location is supposed to be really good (says my friend who used to be the Mktg Manager for the region). There's also Concentra and even those Minute Clinics in Target. Hopefully one of those places could help you out today if you really need it.
I hope you feel better!
I don't understand why the billing issue you are having w/ your insurance would affect the scheduling w/ the Righttime - what do they care? They'll get paid, its just an issue w/ your insurance company and you.
In regards to the insurance, I think its just a timing issue - its not going to collections and its not going to hit your credit report - even if it did, it would take a longass time for it show up.
There's a walk in clinic in Columbia on Snowden, near the Columbia Bridal/Ledo's pizza that we always use - you don't need an appointment and they take all standard insurance. I've never waited more than 20 minutes to be seen there.
The issue is that Righttime isn't getting paid. At this point all they know is that the insurance denied the claim (because supposedly they didn't have the referral) and Righttime wants me to pay now.
I understand Righttime's actions in the whole .. I am sure there are many people that really don't pay but I am majorily annoyed with the lady that talked to me like the last POS.
My husband will be talking to the insurance again and I told him to make sure to stop being nice.
I will try to get seen by my Primary Care doctor today. Luckily my symptoms aren't too severe. I am able to function.
