Website for home purchase prices
FYI - you can see the purchase prices for homes in Houston at www.sawbuck.com. It also has some pretty neat reports for areas around Houston.
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have noticed a few people ask about how you can find the purchase price of homes, and I thought I would post this just in case anyone was still looking.

Re: Website for home purchase prices
Thanks for posting this. I have used sawbuck before, but have never needed it look for sale prices. Today I was going to email Brandi to find out what rrr's crazy aunt's monstrosity in piney point finally sold for. I think she originally listed it for 2.1ish shortly after his uncle passed away, but it sold for only 1.475. A little more than it cost to build, but a loss once you take into account what his uncle paid for the lot!
I just put in 5 of my most recent transactions and the prices and information are not correct for 4 of them.
I also put in a house on my street that sold in June. I says it sold in 2009 and was on the market 100+ days. It sold in 2 days for about $70K more than listed in 2010. The house never sold in 2009. When I put up my house (3 doors down) it gives me totally different information about the neighborhood. Wonder where they get their info?
Huh...I put in 4 homes in my neighborhood that I know the sales prices for, and they were all correct. I guess take it with a grain of salt?
Were the sales prices close, bpaullo? Or completely out of left field?

Some were slight, they definitly don't account for any seller concession (closing costs, allowances, repair money). That should come off the top. So they were high.. However, 2 were low. About $50K off!
