how often do u make love? not just sex, but really make love?

so we are all busy with hectic schedules.... how often do you guys buy out the time to really make each other feel good? wondering if we are normal lol..... we have sex often, but making love uh not so much

Re: how often do u make love? not just sex, but really make love?

  • Due to the location of his job and where I live, we maybe only get to have sex two or three times a week if our schedules work out. When we do have sex though we usually stick to what we know works for the other.  I would say maybe three times a month we really take the time to enjoy each other and make love; trying new things and just having fun with it.
  • i don't think your question makes sense. we just have sex and it feels plenty good. in fact, physically i much prefer dirty dirty sex to "making love" anyway, less boring and more orgasms.
  • My DH & I are still what I consider newlyweds, (our anniversary is this weekend) and we're both young with- uh- fairly high sex drives, so we never can really seem to keep our hands off each other. Now that we have a baby though, we have to prioritize our sex life. His naps usually don't facilitate 30 minutes of foreplay, etc. If we want to have sex, we just have to do it, and hope we have time for the lovey stuff afterward.

Honestly though, sex doesn't have to be the only time you "make love." When we are too tired/don't have time for sex, some good kissing and a little cuddling falls into the lovemaking category in my book. Marriage is about making efforts to connect, even if it's just for five minutes before he leaves for work.

  • What's the difference?

  • Recently, our schedule has been so hectic and with all the guests that we have had we have not had much chance either. Before that, 2-3 times a week. Even though it is sparse there is quality in the sex. The love making is controlled and lasts. If we go longer than 2-3 times a week, the sex becomes. . . well, sex if you want to call it that. Name calling, scratching, yanking hair. You know, all the good stuff.
  • Sex, a few times a week. "Romantic Lovemaking" maybe not in 4 years!
  • I think people might differ on what they constitute "sex" vs. "making love." For me it's about really feeling connected to that person but we try to make an effort to "really make each other feel good" regardless of whether it's down and dirty or not.

For the past 4 1/2 months we've been long distance and see each other about once a month. Unfortunately for me, I've gotten my period in the middle of 3 out of the 4 times I've seen him, which makes the foreplay a little less awesome. When we do see each other it's usually 1-3 times where it's sex because we're both so horny and maybe 1-2 times where we feel more connected that.

It's verry was different for us when we saw each other every day.

And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image
  • I'm pretty sure you're normal. We have sex (I like to think its about every 3 days, but DH would say otherwise) so I guess twice a week? Every once in awhile, maybe twice a month or something we will find the time to really make love. I totally know the difference, and I do not think its boring/less orgasms...just more connected and you really feel loved afterwards.

  • I think your question makes absolute sense.

Things have been crazy for us right now so we haven't made love in over 3 months but we have sex about twice a week. He's pretty much guaranteed to get laid on saturday mornings Big Smile

  • I totally get your question!!...as a newlywed where both my DH and I have hectic work schedules, we are in the same boat.

Id say sex is always good, but making love on a more intimate and time consuming process in usually on a low key day that we both feel rested and intimate (which we all know can sometimes be months before aligning! hehe) is much more rare.

I recently went to a "Slumber party" (check them out online!) a friend hosted in her house--no husbands or kids!! lol and bought some things that have been new, fun to try, and exciting to add to our sex lives which makes us want to more. It kinda makes us both break more out of our comfort zones together which if fun...and (this may sound crazy) has made love making more common on the days we arent trying something more hot and new!

  • DH is very sweet so every time is making love.  He's not the kind of guy to just boink for boinking's sake.

You need to chill out with the hectic-ness and relax more and then you and your DH will be more relaxed during.  Once you're relaxed you can really connect.
