There was an acquaintance of mine that I tried dating a few years ago, for about a month and a half, because he was really insistent that I "give him a chance". At the time, he ate nothing but fast food and drank WAY too much beer and smoked WAY too many cigarettes, which added all together, made him pretty overweight and inactive and unable to get and/or keep an erection. I just couldn't find myself physically attracted to someone that took zero care of himself, even though he was a really good friend. So, after I told him that I wasn't feeling that we made a good romantic match (obviously didn't tell him why, just that I didn't feel it between us), he decided that he didn't want to be friends with me anymore and disappeared from my life.
He just showed up in my Suggested Friends on FB, and his profile is public, so I got nosy. Apparently, he's decided to completely change his life and get healthy...and he looks really good, to boot. Amazing how you lose tons of weight when you start eating better and stop smoking like a freight train and drinking like a fish, eh? Too bad it took him so long to do it. We might have worked out if he'd taken care of himself before.
