Weekend recap!

Hi Ladies!

I missed you all terribly late last week but I did poke around Friday a little to read your Friday posts. How was your weekend?

Re: Weekend recap!

  • Saturday was a fun girls night...we did a wine tasting, got pedicures, went shopping, ate dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then came back to my house to watch "Horrible Bosses"...I don't have many girls nights and now I'm thinking this must be a tradition.  Starting now.  Whose in?

Sunday we got groceries, Jimmy Johns for lunch and then went to see a few houses because our short sale is pissing us off.  Our offer was accepted in JUNE...if you didn't know, it is NOVEMBER.  I know it can take forever, but this is just ridiculous.  We've been so kind and nice about the whole thing and now we are just...grrrrrrr.

Then we went out to dinner for my gma's 86th birthday!

We then tried to start laundry but both crashed on the couch at 9 pm!

  • Hey girls!!  I am off this week, our district is closed for teacher's convention and election day.  It's a MUCH needed break from the craziness.  So right now, I'm sipping coffee and watching the Today show.

Our weekend was great.  Friday night we just ate dinner and hung out at home.  Saturday morning I had to get up super early to proctor the SAT.  Once that was over, I came home and spent the rest of the day cleaning.  I really need a cleaning lady!!!  Saturday night, hubby went to a football game with his friends, and my friend came over for coffee and we spent a couple of hours chatting.  Sunday, we thoroughly enjoyed the extra hour.  I went for a jog, read my book for hours, went food shopping, started making my Thanksgiving to-do list, and made a shepherd's pie for dinner.  Great, relaxing Sunday.

    Have a good week everyone!

  • My weekend was pretty uneventful...Dh got a PT job at the Apple store and was training about 45 mins away all weekend. The only fun thing we did was on Saturday when we went to Ikea to get some stuff for our new place. Other than that I did some packing and lots of relaxing :)

  • Our weekend was uneventful. Friday night we watched About Schmidt again (it cracks me up SO much!) and had pizza. Saturday we lounged around, then I worked out (well, barely, but better than nothing) at the gym, then watched the Huskers' disappointment! After that we had a family event for Jeff's family. We ended up at one of his dad's cousin's place. They are completely remodeling the old farm house at which they grew up, and the basement is sweet with a really nice bar and game room and all kinds of stuff. They have slot machines that I was completely unaware that they actually pay you if you win, so I put in $5 and won $105 on my first spin! Haha! SA-WEET!

Sunday I lounged in the morning, took a nap during the early games, then watched the afternoon football games. Basically a weekend of nothing, and it was so fantastic!!!

  • Our weekend was pretty uneventful.

Friday night DH worked late, so we just hung out at home.  Saturday we did some laundry and I ran to the store before we went to a brewery tour and tasting with some friends.  After dinner at the brewery we went out for frozen custard.

Sunday we went to church then out for lunch and to Sams.  Then we came home and bummed around.  I made 2 big pots of soup yesterday (1 for home and 1 for work today), so our apt smelled awesome all day.

  • We had a very busy weekend, but today is a short day so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Friday night we bought 2 more paint samples and finally (finally!) decided on a paint color for the nursery. It's called Early Spring and it's beautiful.

Saturday we went to a Brunswick stew festival. For the most part the stews were delicious and it was so nice to eat hot stew on such a cool day. Afterwards I went to use a livingsocial coupon my mom bought for me at a maternity store and got a really cute sweater that I can't wait to wear. We stopped at a nearby bakery and got some goodies to eat later. Then H was nice enough to go bra shopping with me and not act too shocked to find out that I have grown 2 cups sizes! My poor girls were being smushed and I didn't even know it. Then we bought paint and supplies and called it a day.

Sunday was grocery shopping while H moved all the old furniture out of the nursery, then painting all day. In between we did laundry and gave the dog a bath. Last night I was so exhausted I went to bed at 9pm.

Today H and I have an appointment to get our little man a fetal echo at 1pm. We were going to get it done regardless because of H's heart history, but our a/s also showed a spot on the heart that the tech thinks was just a shadow from baby's hand, but we'll get it checked out anyways just to be sure. Then we might start putting together baby furniture since we'll be home from work so early.

  • @Danie:  Does that mean your spending spree on Christmas items is almost paid for?

@Liz:  Sending lots of good vibes that your LO's heart is fine!  And so happy to hear that you picked out a color!!

My weekend was uneventful.  Saturday and Sunday I was on my own so I just did stuff around the house:  cleaning, making applesauce and cereal, meal planning, walking the dogs, laundry, etc

  • Mel: Haha! Yea! : )  Now, to win money another way to pay for all the food I need to buy for the Thanksgiving weekend! I am literally planning on spacing out the Thanksgiving food buying over the next few weeks so I don't give myself a heart attack! Hahahah!

  • I had the best weekend!! I had a long post with pictures from lunch with Stacy! Then when I clicked "Post" and error occurred and it lost my post. I didn't have time before work to retype it so maybe later tonight I will make another post separate from this one.

I am doing the same thing.  I usually do that every year around the holidays.  The groccery bills tend to get crazy around this time of the year so I try to watch for sales an break it up a bit.

  • We helped a friend propose to his girlfriend this weekend, and she said YES!!!  He bought her a ring and a new car, showed her the new car first, then got down on one knee, and she was SO not expecting it. :)

  • Weekend was good.  Saturday after a 2 hour workout I got several hours of couch time to catch up on DVR stuff then went out for a nice dinner for my cousin's birthday.  AFterwards we all went back to her house for cake & skyped with her daughter in Houston.

Sunday's time change kicked my butt - I was up at 5 then walked, cleaned the basement, organized some cabinets, ran to 6 stores then had dinner over my mom's.  Then fell asleep at 8:30 last night and slept through the night!!  Feeling much rested today!!
