Recs for Beach House Rentals in Rehoboth? 4br/3ba Needed

We are looking for a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom (preferably 3 full baths) in Rehoboth for the summer of 2012. I have already found a few options by searching the internet but I was wondering if anyone had a personal recommendation of a place you've stayed before or for a rental company that you've delt with. Ideally we want a place within 1-3 blocks of the beach.

  • My parents and ILs live near there, so I've never had a need for a rental myself, but Lingo Realty is the main real estate company in Rehoboth for summer rentals - they've been around for years.

If you're planning to be within 1-3 blocks of the beach, I would avoid renting on Baltimore Ave or Wilmington Ave - there's tons of restaurants/bars on those streets, so it would be pretty noisy.  You also don't want to be too close to Funland.  Depending on how close you want to be to the boardwalk, there are some really nice houses north of the Avenue, along Henlopen, Columbia, Park, etc.  The area around Silver Lake (between Rehoboth and Dewey) is also quite nice - that's where Cal Ripken has a house, and I believe Kathy Lee Gifford's mom as well.

We'll be in Rehoboth on Friday, so if you want me to scope any place out for you (from the outside, of course), let me know!

  • We stayed here a couple of years ago and we loved it. Great, modern house with a fantastic screened in porch, open layout (which I think my friends with kids appreciated), two blocks from the beach and three blocks to the cute "downtown" area. Highly recommend!

Thanks for the reminder on the places to avoid. We've been there a few times but I'm not super familiar with the area and we definitely want to stay away from noisy places. I'll check out Lingo Realty. That's so nice of you to offer to scope out places. Hopefully I can find something good just by using the interwebz but I may ask your opinion just in terms of location.

Thank you so much. That looks like it could work for us.

  • No problem, happy to help!

The place Litasail mentioned is a great location.  Since it's a few blocks north of the boardwalk, the beach in front of Oak Ave. shouldn't be quite as crowded.  I would guess it's maybe a 15 min walk to Rehoboth Ave.
