Anyone used a moving company in the Twin Cities?

We are moving at the end of the month and may want to use a moving company for our very large items. Anyone have and good recommendations in the TC area?

Re: Anyone used a moving company in the Twin Cities?

  • When we moved 5 1/2 years ago, we used AAA Movers and they were GREAT. They were quick, professional and friendly. They also moved us in the middle of a snow storm in March. We got like 6 or 8 inches of snow that day and they had no problems. They were also the cheapest I could find in the Twin Cities at that time.

I know there are several ladies on here who have used them recently and been happy. We will also be using them again in a few months when we move again.

    HTH. :)

  • We used Two Men and a Truck (2 years ago) and would recommend them.

Each location is independently owned, so prices and services vary a little bit depending on which place you call. You might want to call more than one location for quotes. We went through their Burnsville location, which had lower prices than Bloomington.

  • We used AAA in July, and they were really great. They were also the most reasonable of any companies we looked into.

We have used AAA for 3 different moves in the past 2 years, and highly recommend them. FYI, they offer free moving boxes, you have to pick them up at their offices and return them within 30 days of the move. This was an awesome service.

For one of our moves, it was raining cats and dogs part of the time, but there was not a drop of water or a single instance of water damage on our furniture. They must have dried it off after they put it in the moving truck. What a relief, I don't think all movers would be that conscientious.

  • I'll second or third AAA Movers. We used them back in June and they were great. Reasonably priced, I loved that they provided boxes. They were thorough, on time, etc.
