What is your name? Amy. Bet you never would have guessed that...
What do you do for a living? I work on computer modeling of ocean acoustics.
If you have a significant other, how long have you been together? Together for 5 years, married for 2.
What is your favorite color? Purple
What is your favorite beauty product? Chapstick, if that counts. Otherwise, bare minerals makeup.
What is your favorite movie? I don't really watch movies. I usually fall asleep, and even if I make it through, it's pretty unlikely that I'll remember what happened. But, my fave from growing up that I've seen about a million times is Dirty Dancing.
What are your favorite TV shows? Currently on TV: Parenthood, House, Modern Family. Canceled: Gilmore Girls, Monk.
What/where is your favorite day trip in or around RI? I loved a day trip I did with my girlfriends around Newport. Toured a mansion, walked the cliff walk, drove Ocean Dr, walked around Fort Adams, ate out, shopped. It was a lot of fun.
Where was your favorite vacation? Tie for Chile and Alaska. They were completely different types of vacations, but I enjoyed both so much.
Where would you love to go someday? I've never been to Europe! I'm dying to go to Ireland.
Do you have any "stupid human tricks"? No
Do you name your vehicles? Yes! My favorite was a truck DH used to have. It was a huge extended cab long bed F150, and it seemed so huge. We called it Rex, short for Truckasaurus Rex. He now drives a smaller crew cab Nissan Frontier, so we stuck with dinosaur names - Allosaurus, shortened to Allos.
Would you rather cook or eat out? I'd almost always rather cook because I like the food better. We mostly eat out due to laziness.
What would you do if you won the lottery? Pay off debts (our mortgage, student loans, last car, and our parents' mortgages), take a part time job instead of full time, travel (to Europe, Australia, and Africa so I can say I stood on all 7 continents), and open a horse farm.
What is your favorite holiday, and what traditions make it special? I love Christmas. We are not religious, but all the lights and decorations just make me happy. And I love giving gifts to people, and wrapping presents (yes, the actual wrapping process makes me happy! I'm nuts, I know.) I'm trying to think of traditions I want to start now that we have a child. I know I want to bake cookies on Christmas eve. My mom used to make handmade ornaments for the whole extended family every year, but gave it up 10 years ago. I think I want to bring it back so I can connect with my cousins even though we don't spend the holidays together anymore.

We bring out our Elf on a Shelf in mid-November, decorate, we have a big family Christmas Eve party at my aunts and then I host a smaller Christmas Day dinner so the girls can play with their toys. Nothing makes me happier than watching their faces as they open presents on Christmas

What/where is your favorite day trip in or around RI? Just going to Newport and walking around, getting lunch- anything like that, anyplace is always nice.
Where was your favorite vacation? Our honeymoon to Alaska, also when my parents gave us a week at their timeshare in St. Martin one year, so we got to do so many excusrions since we had a completely free trip.

What would you do if you won the lottery? buy my mom the beach house she always wanted, maybe one for myself, quit my job so I can volunteer, donate so much more than we do now and just make sure my mom feels like she doesn't have to worry about finances (well, us too of course).

Plus DH and I fight every holiday b/c I hate his family, spending a minute with them makes me stressed (esp certain members I could really do without). What/where is your favorite day trip in or around RI? There are so many great places for day trips! I'd say my favorite is Bristol, but I love Newport and Providence, too.
Where was your favorite vacation? Walt Disney World! I also loved London.
Where would you love to go someday? I'd love to go to Ireland, Germany, Italy, and Greece
Do you have any "stupid human tricks"? Hm... I can say the alphabet backwards (and very, very quickly!) and I can walk with my toes curled under (it's really weird...)

What would you do if you won the lottery? I suppose it would depend on how much I won! But I'd probably say that I'd pay off my student loans, donate to charity, go on vacation, and give $$ to family.
What is your favorite holiday, and what traditions make it special? I really love Halloween, but Christmas is definitely my favorite. My husband & I are looking forward to creating our own traditions this year (since it's our first year as a married couple!), but my family always has a party after church on Christmas Eve. We'd usually read "The Night Before Christmas" in front of the fire, too
