manic monday

best and worst parts of your weekend!

Re: manic monday

  • Best: My tennis team winning City Finals on Saturday morning and celebrating with a few people on my team Saturday night.

Worst: My tennis team winning City Finals on Saturday, and knowing that my team is going to be moved up next season to a level that most of us don't feel comfortable playing. At least we should only have to spend one season there, because we get clobbered and then can move back down.

  • Best: Hanging out with friends Saturday night.

Worst: Sunday my BIL got hit on his motorcycle. :/ He called me and I raced over to help. I spent most of Sunday in the ER. He's ok just bruised. This is the second in two months that someone has not seen him and clobbered him. I think he's going to sell his bikes. City living is not good for motorcycles.

  • Best: Having fun at Sunday's bike race, getting started Christmas shopping, starting to get much needed cleaning done around the house

Worst: Having an old friend cancel dinner Sat. night 1 minute before I was about to get in my car to drive to meet her.  At least I wasn't in the car already.

  • Best: Going to Nashville, enjoying the city, seeing a great show, and getting to meet my BFF's sweet baby.

Worst: Seeing my BFF and her H go through so many medical complications with their baby. She's had multiple surgeries and may have to have one or two more before they can take her home. Sad

  • best - being in Savannah was GREAT... overall. DH did really well on his marathon, even though the conditions were not ideal. And he signed up for Disney while we were att he Expo!

worst - ZOMG, I have never been so cold in my life! I was completely unprepared for Savannah being so F'ing cold the morning of the race. It was ~50* when the race started and it actually dropped a few degrees into the high 40's because it was cloudy. I ended up at Forsyth park basking in the sun trying to warm up! Of course Sunday was perfect, light jacket weather. Angry Getting to Packet Pickup on Fri was a ZOO. The convention center is across the ricer from Savannah at the Westin. Totally cool location. ONE bridge in and out. For like 40000 people (23k runners + family). It was a quagmire. I parked on a racetrack. For reals.

Then last night, we get back, drop off our luggage at home, go back out to Whole Paycheck and Publix. Have a great salmon dinner, I make a huge mess in the kitchen... and then we have NO water at 10:15pm. DH cannot shower. I cannot clean the dishes. We had to brush our teeth and hit the bathroom before bed, of course. That was interesting. It turned out a pipe burst (we think) in the building next to ours. I'm going to call mgt today to get the story. But by 10:30PM there was a Stanely Steamer-type van outside our unit and lots of activity outside.

So, by this morning, water is restored, but dayum, I was running late from that!

  • best: inman park beer fest with friends

worst: the fertility meds have been keeping me up nights and it's making me sick as a result. also, my parents went to TN for the weekend and my mom ended up in the ER b/c of severe pain in her back. they think it's a sciatic nerve but aren't sure so I've been worried for her

  • Best - Dinner last night with friends was a blast. We also got a lot done at the house over the weekend, even if it doesn't look it.

Worst - Our upstairs looks like a bomb exploded. There is stuff everywhere and mattresses block access to at least one room at a time (gets moved to switch them). I have to get Room A (currently "closet room") cleared before the furniture from Room B (guest room) can be moved in there. Then we can get the new furniture for B and get those mattresses out of the hallway. Then, I can organize Room C (my office). Meanwhile, we have to find room for crap throughout the house that is unsuitable for attic storage. I would say 80% of it is DH's. We just have too much stuff and DH's parents bringing a truckload of boxes from his childhood does not help. All of this has to be done before the holidays. Shoot.me.now.

Oh yeah - and I finally found some new t-shirts I had bought last year, but couldn't fit into. I tried one on and went to show DH (we had both turned that room upside down looking for them before) and the !#@$ box spring had a wire poking out that none of us knew about and it snagged a whole in the brand new shirt as I squeezed by. Mother-effer!

  • best: uga winning was good, but arkansas winning was GREAT!! and we found out our friends are having a boy!!

worst: driving saturday to go meet my sister at hobby lobby, and my car was making a crazy noise...turns out i picked a screw up in my back passenger side tire. the auto shop we take our cars to was already closed, so i've gotta go up there today.

  • best - had an overall pretty good weekend - twilight marathon on sat and church yesterday

worst - got a pretty bad burn on my hand on saturday :(
