I wanted to introduce myself. My husband and I moved to Omaha about a year ago. I mostly post on F&B, but recently decided I should introduce myself and get to know the local board. Feel free to ask me anything.
I'm also looking for recommendations for someone to re-do our master bathroom. We went to Ward's a couple weekends ago and they quoted us $20,000. The bathroom is a 5'x8' space! H is typically a DIY person, but has never done a bathroom, so the thought is making him a bit nervous. I know bathroom renovations can be pricey, but the thought of putting 20K into such a small space terrifies me. Any recommendations for companies that will do smaller jobs?
Thanks and I'm looking forward to getting to know the board.
Re: Introduction and recommendation
Welcome to the board!
Yes, $20K is crazy high for a bathroom. I suggest contacting my BIL. Perspective Construction & Contracting. perspectivecconline.com
He can provide you a bid, as well as several references.
Welcome! That is super high I think! Unless you are upgrading to super expensive fixtures and such, it shouldn't be that high. I know that Menards has wonderful people that are helpful there, and a lot of times they can tell you what you can handle doing yourself to save money, and what to outsource. They will also give recommendations of places that do the work.
Hope that helps!
Welcome!!
I will ask my H if he has any recs and get back to ya. IMO you could add on a bathroom for that price. ;-)
In the meantime... if you find that bathroom that does your hair for you. PLEASE let me know
I could use one of those!

Welcome to the board!
Check out the home improvement stores for How-to's on tiling, grouting, etc. I bet you could do most of the work for a fraction of the cost. There is a couple great tile suppliers around town (109th & Maple and they have a clearance section) and check Fergusen Plumbing supplies out for plumbing fixtures.
Thanks!
Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!
Thank you! We moved here from Central Nebraska. Welcome to you, too!
Welcome to the board!
David Benson with UHelp USave Remodeling just helped us with our kitchen. They did a fantastic job. The best part is if you want to help with labor they will show you how to do it and subtract your help from the labor costs. We saved some money on our kitchen by removing our old counter, helping with the tiling, doing the lighting, and installing the new handles.
