What is everyone asking for for Christmas?
Everyone's asking and I have only 1 idea. I'm thinking a running watch for when/if I do that marathon next year.
How about you?
What are your go-to ideas when you're asked?

Re: What is everyone asking for for Christmas?
I keep a running list of what I want. My list includes:
- A crockpot (which doesn't exist here)
-This watch: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038XOK6Q/ref=asc_df_B0038XOK6Q1345286?smid=A1S94JIW1HOSGL&tag=dealtmp5302-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395129&creativeASIN=B0038XOK6Q (which seems to be unavailable everywhere)
- Love Actually DVD
- Cross-body travel purse
- Chanel perfume (but I forget exactly which one it is I like)
- Nice set of makeup brushes
- A plastic bra washing ball
My list:
-new IPhone
- refill for my Angel perfume
H and I agreed not to do anything big for each other for Christmas this year. H got a watch already and I got 2 handbags and a watch. So we're set.
I'm always happy to receive:
Funnily enough, these are also my go-tos when buying presents.
Cute PJ's
Perfume
iTunes/Barnes and Noble gift cards
But they do!! They started carrying them at Jernia earlier this year. Or at least they did. Since Norwegians do not seem to know what they are, they may have decided to stop carrying them. You can always do what I did - buy one online from one of those online stores that specializes in products meant for American military families abroad and bring it over!
No waaaaaay! I will definitely check into it.
Question about the military family thing: Is it an American plug-in? My former boss brought one from the US but it makes a weird noise when it's been on for a long time (a.k.a. the whole point of a crock pot) so she doesn't trust it without supervision.
ETA: What the heck would it be called in Norwegian?
ETA2: Are you sure they weren't rice cookers? They psyche me out whenever I see them.
I want...
Plane tickets to the US (Mom covered this already)
New running shoes
Kindle Fire
I'm pretty sure DH and I are not doing xmas presents this year since we have bought ourselves a Christmas trip instead. But, if someone else (like MIL) were to ask me, my go-to presents are: clothes, lotions, PJ's, slippers? I don't ask for things like picture frames, or DVD movies anymore.
I already went shopping for my bday and christmas with my Mom last time I was home. She spoiled me - I got a watch (that looks like a bracelet), a bunch of clothes, a pair of brown boots, and a poinsetta table cloth to make my apt pretty @ xmas time
As soon as we pass Thanksgiving weekend, I am going to decorate my apt for xmas and put up my little tree. I'm so excited for xmas music to begin!
We're headed to the Maldives on Christmas Eve!
My crockpot that I brought over is not designed for use in the U.S. It runs on European voltage and has a Norwegian plug-in.
I cannot remember what they called them. Will ask DH when he gets home. They came in two sizes if I remember right and were ridiculously expensive compared to the U.S. They were definitely crockpots and not rice cookers - and they were one of the major brands that is common in the U.S.
I'm going to need this military website that has exactly what I seek!
Squeeeeeeeeee!
Travel Blog
Little Miss Lulu playing on the beach
I want
- software for picture editing
- animaniacs DVD collections
- knitting book with baby/toddler patterns (because considering my lack of free time, by the time i get a project finished she will be a toddler already)
- gift certificate to amazon so i can get some not-free kindle books
- usually i ask for cds from my 3 favorite bands/artists if they have a new album, but this year none of them have a new one
It just doesn't feel like Xmas.
We are going to nix gifts and take a few mini trips. There are a few "must sees" for me in case our move is cut short.
2012 Reading Challenge
Now Nesting from Chicago, IL My nail blog:
I'm getting into the Christmas mood. I just bought a few decorations today for M and H thought I was crazy because it's so early!
I'm asking for:
- running shoes
- running clothes (winter and summer)
- Nespresso machine
- microwave
I have to do an Xmas list for my inlaws and I hate it. They never really listen to the list and usually just give us a bunch of stuff we don't want and don't have room for over here. Sigh.
would love some amazon g/c (for kindle books too!), some Happy Heart perfume and some new sheets. DH and I never do gifts for each other since we travel so much now.

When relatives in the US who aren't my parents ask I tell them either an iTunes or Amazon gift card. That way I can buy the music and books I'm too cheap to buy for myself.
When my parents ask I always ask for plane tickets.
