sort of F&B related: travel hair
how do you wear your hair on planes? And specifically, a looooong plane ride. If I'm just going to CA or whatever I get dressed like I normally would for the day, but I'll be traveling for 20+ hours to the UAE on Thursday. My hair is somewhat long right now so I need to do something with it. I feel like I try different things and still haven't found the perfect solution - hoping there is some amazing idea I haven't thought of.

UAE? That's exciting. Is it for work?
I just do a messy ponytail/bun on top of my head. I hate it down and it gets in my face and drives me crazy. And a ponytail hits behind your head. So, that's what I do.

jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
On my 22+ hour ride to Africa I started with my hair down, then at some point pulled the front back and by the end of the trip it was pulled back in a messy ponytail.
Guess you got your passport stuff all figured out! Have fun.
IMO you were too old for this once you entered jr. high...
I do a low, loose braid:
there is an international conference there that invited 3 grad students to go, so I was like "what the heck!? sounds like fun!"
I do messy bun things now and then, but I feel like it isn't high enough to not hit the head-rest. also, I'm short, so the head rest hits me weird anyway, lol

yeah, the travel agent said I could just use my maiden name, which I decided to do because I've just been so busy and it's one less thing to worry about. I think I'll make sure to change it when I get back though so I can have it over with.
as far as the hair, your story is sort of how I think I've done it too. If I straighten my hair, it's much more manageable and then I can change it depending on what I want at the moment. But it's not really ideal I guess.

HAHA *burn*
the low loose braid is a good option

LOL! I didn't mean it like that. It's totally a personal thing, but no matter what, pigtails post puberty remind me of some Lolita fetish.
well damn. single braid it is then.

I agree with this. Ponytails are uncomfortable, but I want it out of my face! this is a great solution
lol well, I have to say it's a pretty good idea for plane rides, although I agree it isn't stylish. I think for this trip I'll nix it because I'm going to wear my suit (and bring sweatpants to change into on the plane) to save room in my bag - also, my sister got upgraded one time and she swears it was the suit

i really like this. or a braid to the side that comes over your shoulder.. but not 2 braids.
When my hair was long i would usually either braid it, or do a very low messy bun with a headband or headband-tied scarf. With it short i straighten or curl it and pin it back.
Good luck on the plane and have fun!!
