If you have a mac, I have a question for you.

DH and I are seriously considering an imac for our next computer (in the near future, possibly for Christmas).  We know nothing about them. I haven't used one since HS and I don't think DH has ever used one.

Most of my friends have made the switch from pc already and they highly recommend that we do the same.  We're easily swayed (especially since i've been through 3 Dells in the last 7 years.)

Like I said, we're considering the imac.  We've been shopping around and we think we've settled on what we want, I just don't know if it's "good" enough.  Usually when I customize a computer I just upgrade to the next thing offered.  But I just want to make sure.

We don't do anything really on our computers, I am getting into photography (not professional by any means) so I do a lot of editing/storing pictures, and we do the day to day things, like budget, youtube watching, procrastinating, etc, so it's not like we need something over the top.

Anyways - this is what we built.  Anything we should add/remove?  Any other recommedations?  I seriously know nothing about computers.

2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor

Apple Time Capsule 2TB

Re: If you have a mac, I have a question for you.

  • That's similar to the iMac we have, and we love it.  It's totally fine for what you are looking for.

  • i haven't had owned an imac in awhile but my 3.5 year old macbook was one of the cheaper models in 2008 and it ran photoshop perfectly. i think my current imac at work is more souped up but it has video editing software, InDesign, etc... DH went through two laptops in 18 months and mine is plugging along just fine.
