DH got his dates for one of his shows that requires travel. I've gone with him before, and it is AWESOME. DH works, I hang out by the pool, we go out to dinner, and the hotel is free since he'll already be there. We've heard rumors of New Orleans for years. We've wanted to do it. Well... they're finally doing New Orleans! We have two sets of grandparents who are dying to get Molly for a few days. I'm really excited, until I hear the dates.
It's Molly's first birthday. I can't go out of town for her first birthday, can I? What kind of mom leaves town and drinks hurricanes on her only childs first birthday? What a bummer. None of the other locations look fun. No travel this year.
Re: I can't do it, can I?
Honestly, I would consider it. Does that make me a bad person? :-)
You could always have her birthday party the weekend before or after, she'll never know th difference. And, that way, you and DH can still enjoy one another's company and do something fun as a couple. I'm pretty sure Molly won't mind. :-)

This exactly. Plus, DH is going to miss her first birthday regardless, right? So plan her party when he can be there and celebrate then. Your friends/family will understand wanting to schedule so DH can be there, and Molly won't know the difference anyway. I would definitely go!
I'll come out and say, I couldn't do it. Nora's birthday was really special to ME (not Nora--I agree that Molly will not know the difference).
With that said, I wouldn't judge someone else for making a decision different from mine!

It's your call. Like others have said she wouldn't know the difference, only you would. If it's not something that bothers you, then go for it.
Consider it ... it's not like she'll know.

This is how I feel too.
Same with me.
Same here. I really enjoyed taking the day off and spending it with just me and her.

It's either Desperate Landscapes or Disney Dream Backyards. Both are the same company.
Yeah, I think it's a personal thing. As much as I'd love to be drinking on Bourbon Street (and I really, really would love that), I think I'd be sad all day thinking of her. Maybe next fall.

Do it. She's 1.
Having her bday party a week or so late is not a big deal, IMO.
