Downtown Dallas hotel/restaurant recs?

DH and I are going to Dallas next month. Anyone have hotel and restaturant recommendations for the downtown area?

Re: Downtown Dallas hotel/restaurant recs?

  • Medieval Times is a super fun place to have dinner!

  • You should go uptown! I love me some uptown Dallas!

  • If you have money to burn, the Adophus hotel is lovely.

I just checked this out and it's very close to where we need to be. And the rates were pretty reasonable!
  • Screw downtown and stay at the Palomar.  It is off of 75 and Mockingbird and a VERY short drive to downtown.  You can get it on name your price on priceline for between $100 - $120 per night - it is the only four star hotel in the Henderson-Knox area.  It is the best hotel in Dallas.

Thanks! This is definitely close enough!

I seriously don't know anything about Dallas. I've been there maybe three times in my life. Weird right?! I don't even know what would be considered uptown!
  • I just got back from our weekend in Dallas and we stayed at the Hotel ZaZa (uptown).  We had a wonderful time and the people are always so helpful and friendly there.  Plus everytime we had our turn-down service, we got various chocolates and candy bars... can't go wrong with that!  For dinner, we stayed at the hotel and tried the Dragonfly restaurant.  The noise level was a little loud for my taste, but the food is delicious.  Plus, a DJ spins some tunes from 10 pm - 2 am and it's a pretty fun party scene.

I'd also recommend Truluck's - they are highly recommended for their seafood.
