What's with the "no signs of forced entry?" Ummm....chick left the car unlocked! Why would there be any signs of that?

There are all kinds of ??? all over this story. Apparently both parents had been cited previously for leaving the child/children unattended. My child is 2. There is no way on G-d's green earth or any other planet for that matter that I would leave her alone in the car. I cannot even fathom this.
ETA: Eff it, I don't care how old my child is, I'd never leave her alone in an unattended car.
