Anyone around tonight? DH just left for Ohio for work, so I'm just sitting here by myself, watching TV. What are you guys up to?

Re: ***Nighttime Nesties***
I'm here, still doing laundry. Trying to get ahold of DH. He left for CT at 5:30 this morning (yes 5:30am) & I'm hoping he's there by now. He had to change planes in Philly & his connecting flight to Hartford at 9:45am was pushed back to 10:45, then cancelled, so he was to get a 2pm flight, which, yep, was cancelled. He texted me at 4pm saying he was on the plane. I've called & his phone just rings, so he's on the ground at least if his phone is on, probably at dinner or something I guess.
I'm glad he has Delta non-stop on his way home Thurs.!
UGH that does not sound fun at all. I hope you get a hold of him soon.
I just got home from weight watchers and dinner with my parents and my nephew at Chili's. I swear I could go to bed right now!! I'm so tired!
I love Chili's!

I'm here! We're having some funky weather here in Houston, and my sinuses are killing me. I feel like they're going to pop out of my head. And I wish they would...
Other than that, I sold my first piece of furniture on craigslist! I spent the weekend going though my storage stuff to get ready to be able to move when the opportunity presents itself. So now I'm down one piece of furniture, and up $35!
I just have to tell you, I absolutely LOVE your new siggy pic! The twins are adorable!!!
(I also hope the washing machine cooperates tomorrow!)

He travels a lot, but it's not always to Ohio. He spends a lot of time in Canada, Ohio and NY. He should be back by Wednesday, so that's a pretty short trip for him!

What qualifies as "funky weather"?

He is an application engineer, so he spends a lot of time working with different company's, setting up, fixing, maintaining and updating machines and their software. He actually loves the traveling, which is great. It's tough on me, but I'm getting used to it, especially because I know that he likes his job as much as he does.

Yeah, I think that makes the difference. We don't have any kids yet, so it is definitely easier. This job is really something that I could see him having as his career though, so I guess it will just have to be something I get used to when we have kids.

Speaking from experience, you do get use to it. No, not the easiest w/kids, but it is doable. I've found 2 families from my church that have husbands that travel during the week (I didn't know this about these families until DH had to travel). One couple have been like that since before kids & they have 3 kids 8 & older. I think it's harder when you have young kids/babies. That's why DH is not sure on #3 for us.
My washer is smoking. I don't think that's a good sign. Not a good night for washers, apparently.
We had two of us when I was growing up, and pretty much my whole childhood was this way. We moved a couple of times with my dad, but the rest of the time he was usually gone for week and at home on some weekends, and others we would all go visit him. On the outside it doesn't look like an ideal situation, but my parents actually made it fun for us. It wasn't classic, but it was good... because my parents made it good for us.
DH and I aren't in that boat; we're just on opposite shifts and wondering how that's going to work out when we start having kids.
Well today it's 84 (I know, that sounds delightful to y'all!) but it is SO humid outside that it literally hurts to breathe in. The temp keeps changing too...two weeks ago it dropped to the 40s, then back up to the 80s, then back to the 40s, then back to the 80s and I think it's supposed to get cold (for November in Houston) tomorrow again once this front passes through.
