Tea experts

Anyone know which is closer to orange pekoe, darjeeling or ceylon? I like earl grey but not enough for my daily consumption. Those 3 flavors are the only kind in my local supermarket I can read the label of/recognize. I am googling them but the descriptions just confuse me! I have run out of Red Rose and I am freaking out!

Re: Tea experts

  • hm. I've unfortunately never heard of orange pekoe, so I can't help you there. I prefer ceylon, but that's obviously a personal taste thing. Have you thought about ordering one the next time you go to a cafe? Then you can test it out.

  • I don't know for sure, but I would think ceylon. I don't really care for darjeeling which may be why ceylon would be my pick.
  • I want to say ceylon because I think darjeeling is darker.  And I think pekoe is pretty light.

I'm just guessing here and not googling.  Teavana.com has some decent resources on the 'levels' of tea.

  • Yeah, I'm late to the party, but agree, I'd think Ceylon is closer. :)
