What do you put your baby in when they have their own seat? W will be 16 months old when we fly back to the US in December. We usually put his car seat in his seat but now he pretty much hates being in it. Any suggestions?
Re: s/o flying with baby
At that age, we still held our kids on our laps during take off & landing and tried to belt them into their seat as much as possible. Most of the time they were on our laps or walking the aisles or asleep - that's where the extra seat really came in handy becaue I could sleep too without holding a baby on my lap. I've seen those flight vests/harnesses, but I'm not convinced that a kid who hates their carseat would want to be restricted by a vest either.
Like dpdw, I also kept M in my lap at that age for take off and landing. He hated the cares harness, it was even tough to keep the regular seatbelt on him! Whenever I had an extra seat beside me, I would let him sit there to play or put him there once he would fall asleep, but most of the time he just stayed in my lap.
Now that he likes to watch movies and has his own seat, it is much easier to keep him belted in.
I was looking at the cares harness. I'm pretty sure he'd hate that, too. I'm just wondering how I'm going to eat 2 meals that I'm not even hungry for? haha. I always find a way!
Yeh, he's big enough. He weighs probably 26 lbs. The more I look at them, the more I think I need it. Our car seat is rear facing, but it's such a hassle to carry all that stuff and I have a feeling he won't even want to be in it.
fyi, most car seats won't even fit in an airpalne seat if you put them in rear-facing.
Ours does. We've taken it back and forth to the US 4 times now.
Yeah, we have done it several times as well rear facing. The issue is the seat in front of you wont be able to recline.
