Anyone else have sick kids that never seem to get better?
Both kids are on antibiotics right now, one is on her second after both had eye flareups (not pink eye, but looked very much like it!). K just got on another antibiotic on Friday and yesterday and today she spiked 101 fever. So now it looks like she has a virus of some sort! These kids have been off and on sick for over 2 weeks. It's crazy and I'm hoping this is it for the winter and not a sign of what's to come!!
Re: Anyone else have sick kids that never seem to get better?
Married the love of my life 6/3/06
Became a family of three 8/25/09
that is my life.... k was especially bad.
I'm giving her some immune booster type stuff that I got at the natural food store and a multi vitamin. Things seemed to get better for us once I stopped taking them to the YMCA gym daycare. We literally were getting the stomach flu every month or some sort of disease involving stomach issues.
I wonder if this is part of it too. I had K in centers with 100 kids or so. They are now in a smaller center with a lot less kids.
It's the same, but they wake up on their own at 6am every day, so it's not like we're forcing them out of bed. B gets 11 hours of sleep and K gets 10 hours of sleep. They haven't been sick in over 6 months and the past month they've had things non-stop. Ever since K got her tonsils out, she's been so healthy until 3 weeks ago.
I know B is younger so has less of an immune system, but he keeps getting colds. He also had a 4 day virus and ear infection at the end of September. The ped said to expect a cold every month for daycare babies.
It doesn't help any that my students give me all their gunk, and DH is exposed to tons of stuff at the hospital and nursing home. Right now, B and I are passing the same cold back and forth - he gets better, and then a week later, catches it from me again; then I get better, and catch it from him, etc...
I keep a humidifier in his room and use saline drops before AND after suctioning - it's about all I can do! He won't sleep propped up at home but will at daycare.
