So DH and I have been TTC #2 for the past several months with no luck. After just winging it for the first couple of months I decided to start charting just to make sure I'm ovulating and to see where in my cycle that was happening. The past few cycles my LP has been only 10 days long, which is considered normal. (But on the short side of normal).
DH wants me to call my OBGYN and talk things over with her, but I don't want to be that woman who is freaking out when things are fine. Obviously we know that I can get and sustain a pregnancy.
I know you will set me straight -- thoughts?
Re: Should I call or wait?
We got pregnant with E on our 3rd cycle. This one, we tried for a year before finally getting pregnant. I was charting and went in to my OB to see what he thought. My cycles were irregular, with some having a long enough LP, and some not. He was comfortable offering me Clomid at that point which was 8 months, but said we could wait for the year point also. I decided to wait, and the month we would have started Clomid, we found out we were pregnant.
FWIW, I was charting for a year and the cycle we got pregnant, my temps showed I O'ed at day 21. My OB did an ultrasound at 8 weeks, and the one at 20, and both of them show I must have O'ed around day 14, not 21. I wasn't using OPK's either, but was very consistent with temping.
I don't see an issue with calling your OB, that's what they are for. You may be told to wait a year, but maybe they have some other advice for you too.
Oh good point. Definitely agree!

We are starting our 6th cycle this month.
Happily Married Since 11.29.02

Blaire Kay born 7.10.10
I would call.
I had a luteal phase defect *note- some dr's don't believe in this or at least that is what I learned 4 years ago
I tried to get pregnant for 2 years with no success with it. Protetrium helped me the first month I was on it.
I would call and get an appt.
It took us 16 months to get pregnant with DS #1. My OB told me I should only wait 6 months when TTC #2 before seeing her for some help.
I, too, have a short LP.
My OB is in GI and I absolutely adore her. Thanks for thinking of me though!
