thief!!! UPDATE!

we have (had!) several small pumpkins on our front porch. this morning, there are shreds of pumpkin and a missing pumpkin! i'm afraid of what creature was big enough to carry off an entire pumpkin! must have been a raccoon or possum...on my porch! EEEEEEWWWWWW

ETA: so i found the contraband pumpkin. it was down the street a bit, hanging out in the gutter. some animal (likely a raccoon) tried to drag it into the sewer opening, but it was too big. what else lives in the sewer but raccoons? and that nasty thing was on my porch where my kids play barefoot!?!?!?!?!?! YUUUUUCCCKKKYYY!!!!!!!!

Re: thief!!! UPDATE!

  • I know, we had some creature chew through our kabocha squash vines and steal them.  I'm not putting it past the squirrels.  I see the way they eye my gourds.
  • OMG, how disturbing!
  • Better on your porch than in your house - we had a raccoon come in the doggie door one night.  I called the police in the morning, I couldn't believe such a small animal made such a big mess!  (I was slightly embarrassed when the cops pointed out the paw prints on the wall...)

OMG, i think i would have to seal that door up! i love furry animals of all kinds and see their purpose in the world. but i would prefer to admire them from a distance!

LOL! i think this pumpkin was too big for a squirrel to carry off, but maybe if he and his cousins ate half of it first...
